WHY CONTRIBUTE?
Good Radio Shows' programs
reach a lot of people.
Did you know that a single
broadcast of Peace Talks on KUNM is heard by 21,000 people?
Think about that for a
moment.
If you knew that your contribution
could make a single event happen in your community, wherein 21,000 people could
fill up the seats of one of your local sports arenas, and hear a program that
could help them deal with the conflict in their everyday lives, you very well
might make that contribution wouldn't you? Even if that event was just a one-time
thing.
But in fact, since January
2003, Good Radio Shows produced over 45 programs, reaching a collective audience
of nearly a million people over the air, and hundreds more on the internet,
with programs primarily about making peace and resolving conflict in any number
of environments. They included programs on peaceful parenting, improving race
relations, understanding and addressing domestic violence, nonviolent communication,
as well as programs on peace-making in middle schools, on the job and in our
government.
Just imagine what can be
done with the support offered by contributions from you and others like you.
More programs, better researched, with top-notch guests from both our region
and across the country. And as the programs continue to improve, more stations
will be likely to air them and the impact of your support will increase. Listeners
and web browsers will have a place to come where they can get information and
ideas they can use right away, to improve their lives and the lives of those
around them.
Each episode of Peace
Talks costs about $1500 to produce. This money is used for research, booking
of guests, equipment rental, engineering, editing, mastering and distributing.
Your dollars, along with contributions from people like you, are stitched together
to help meet the financial needs of the programs.
And Good Radio Shows hopes
to do more than just Peace Talks. Look for occasional specials on social justice,
media literacy, education, the environment, the performing arts, literature,
the humanities, current events and public affairs.
In other words, your contribution
to Good Radio Shows, Inc. flows down to inform, inspire and improve the lives
of thousands. That's a pretty good return on your investment, don't you think?
